I used to question my life journey with such confusion and frustration, I felt like I was all over the place. Why wouldn’t I just focus on one thing, get really good at it, and be done?

I used to set these unbelievably unrealistic goals for myself, for things that I thought I should be doing, instead of doing what I actually wanted to do. It was like carrying a ton of bricks, it felt impossible.

I’ve come to realize that there is actually nothing wrong with me. I’m okay to have a lot of interests and hobbies. To other’s it may seem random, but to me it just makes sense. Ironic, isn’t it? When I was trying to do things I thought I should be doing, it was more for external validation. And now, doing things that I actually want to do, it’s more for my own validation.

And I think when you start to authentically follow those excitements of what you want to do, and they come from such a genuine place, you can’t help but magnetize so much more happiness in your own life. You can’t help but see just how wonderful and special you truly are!

Give yourself permission to follow your interests, let yourself flourish, and show the world what you’re made of!

One of my most recent excitements that I followed was making my own blanket.

I was inspired by the cozy blanket Carrie Bradshaw had in one of the And Just Like That episodes. Yes, I could’ve easily bought myself a cozy blanket but lately I have been really inspired to add my own personal touch, my own personal essence to things big and small in my life.

For example, last summer I took pottery classes and made my own vases, or I like to embroider my sweaters.

This time, I wanted to make my own chunky cozy wool blanket. It was such a fun and easy process, and I love that I added my own personal touches (mistakes I made along the way, but also intentional ones like doing 22 stitches *one of my favorite numbers*) (Here’s the link for the YouTube video I used)

What are some interests you’re finally going to explore?

Yours Truly,

The Serene Sol
